The Hakushu Single Malt Japanese Aged 12 Years Old 100th Anniversary Suntory Whisky

The Hakushu 12 single malt is from a careful selection of malt whiskies. All whiskies have been ageing for a minimum of 12 years in various casks, to honour the Suntory Whisky's centenary. Hakushu offers a very subtle peat quality, which here shows up in green, herbaceous, gently smoked notes. Specifically on the nose you can experience aromas of toasted barley, seed & nut loaf, chopped almonds and a little bit of barrel char. Hints of milk chocolate and dried grass bring the sweetness. To taste this dram features much more fruit on the palate, but it's by no means overly sweet. Still rich, herbaceous and grassy, with a waft of smoke along the way. The finish is quite short, though enjoyable with orange peel and a touch of minerals.
