The Dalmore can date its history back to 1263 with ‘The Death of the Stag’. An iconic painting that illustrates a legend in which the first chieftain of the Clan Mackenzie saves the life of the Scottish King. Colin Fitzgerald is shown about to spear a fierce stag who had turned on the Scottish King, Alexander III, during a hunting expedition. Crafted to honour the act of saving Scotland's King in 1263, this expression unites six specially selected casks housing spirit of perfect maturity. Whiskies matured in ex-bourbon casks, Matusalem oloroso sherry wood, Madeira barrels, Marsala casks, port pipes and Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques are brought together in perfect harmony. Each cask gives its own flavour notes, delivering a unique complex single malt whisky revered by connoisseurs. The whisky has a terrific aroma of red berry fruits, fresh flowers and hints of passion fruit whilst its palate is a heady mix of citrus zest, vanilla pod, creme caramel and crushed almonds.
