The Charlemagne vines in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger are the base of this single-vineyard Chardonnay wine. 2013 in Le Mesnil is a year of champagnes with wonderful fruit and excellent acidity.  This champagne is excellent now but will develop and get better for several years with considerable potential. It has concentration and body, excellent structure and a radiant energy and palate intense minerality. Textured, mineral and with a steely edge, this structured wine will take time. A wonderful pairing for pork, rich fish and shellfish as well as mild and soft cheeses.
